I had the privilege to briefly be a part of the amazing team working on real time VR immersive home env for quest 3, my responsibilities were tweaking and optimizing already great geo provided to me and making uv's for textures and lightmaps as well as creating tileable materials and RGB masking for bespoke detail. Since we needed high quality but at low cost, the high res tileables had to be cropped and re-tiled to support greater tiling whilst retaining detail, different channel packing and rgb masking were utilized to add fidelity.
